Friday Forum: State of the State and Local Economy
Friday Forum: State of the State and Local Economy brings together experts to explore how Oregon’s economy and the Portland metro region are performing and what that means for communities across the state. Because the health of Oregon’s economy is closely tied to the strength of its metropolitan areas, these trends affect everyday quality of life, from employment opportunities and housing costs to access to basic necessities.
State Economist Carl Riccadonna and Multnomah County Economist Jeff Renfro will each present an overview of current economic conditions, followed by a moderated question and answer session with the audience. The discussion will cover key topics including the state and local job market, the effects of recent corporate and public sector layoffs, revenue forecasts and budget implications, downtown Portland real estate trends, and the impact of federal policy, tariffs, and broader national and global events.
Registration is required, and attendees are asked to register individually to receive event updates and help maintain an accurate headcount. General admission is free and does not include lunch. Lunch tickets are available for members and non members, and a suggested donation option is offered to support City Club programming and make future events accessible to a wider audience.
