Join Desiree Tullos, PhD, Professor in the Biological and Ecological Engineering Department at Oregon State University, for an engaging Science Pub lecture at the McMenamins Kennedy School Theater.

This talk explores the recent rise in cyanobacterial (blue-green algae) blooms in the lower Willamette River—what causes them, what local specialists have discovered about their patterns, and the challenges and strategies involved in mitigating their impact. Through conversation and visual storytelling, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of this growing environmental issue and its local significance.

Science Pubs are a casual lecture series hosted in fun venues across the region and are recommended for ages 10 and up.
